Welcome to Slow Moe
Slow-Moe is a system for video capture of sports motion. Any rapid sports like activity taking place in a fixed location such as a golf swing, baseball batting or pitching, tennis serve, football pass and many others can be captured on video from two different camera angles simultaneously. These short videos can then be analyzed in slow motion with a multitude of tools to enhance the analysis. The cameras capture at 60 frames per second with shutters speeds of 1/2000th of a second. This is fast enough for example to see the golf club head throughout the swing and to see shaft flex.
For the athlete this means that he or she can see themselves and understand what their bodies are doing and what they may be able to change to improve their performance. Most golfers see immediately something they wish to change and often get instant rewards for the change. Slow-Moe is not, nor professes to be, coaches of any sport but a tool to be used by individuals for self analysis or for analysis with the aid of a professional.
The Slow-Moe system utilizes equipment from Sports Motion, Inc. of California. It is a system designed and tested by former college baseball coach, a photographer, and a computer expert. Working from the premise that modern studies show that 90% of all human communication is non-verbal, they developed a system that allows for athletes to SEE for themselves what coaches have, up till now, had to try and explain or describe verbally. The portability of Slow-Moe allows for this process to occur on the practice ground.
